"Bethie's Place"

I love reading, writing, and books!! Come on in and relax awhile!!!

I’m a published author!

Sorry it’s been so long since you’ve heard from me, but I’ve been very busy!! 😀 While I’ve been away, I took a short online course on how to write and publish what are called “low content” books. Once the course was over, and I found the courage to dive in, I published two books on Amazon. com. this past week.

Now this is where I need your help. The two books are blank journals and can be purchased in Kindle or paperback format. The first one is titled, “Don’t Let Your Disability Define You”, and the second, “Food and Health Journal”.  To find them, you can either search by my name, Beth Casey, or by title.  It is my goal to get both of these titles in as many hands as I can, particularly the first one. If you would be so kind to check them out, and if you know someone who can benefit from either to buy it as a gift or if you work in the medical field or know someone who does, rehabilitation center/hospital,  to buy it in bulk, I would be very grateful for your support! More books on the way this coming week! Stay tuned!!

A Message To My Readers

Over the past five years my life has taken many twists and turns healthwise which kept me from updating my website here at WordPress as often as I had hoped. During my most recent health crisis (2018) there was one man who kept my spirits up with encouraging words, prayers, and at times, simply silence. He is my best friend, my cheerleader, and the love of my life. Robert, you’ve been beside me through many moments of frustration, discouragement, anger, sadness and most recently unimaginable joy as we became husband and wife on September 29, 2017.  As I reflect on your words of encouragement, love and support, this song came to mind. Thank you for teaching me and reminding me on a daily basis that no dream is impossible. I love you to the ends of the earth and for eternity.

My Disability Is Only Part Of Who I Am

My Disability is Only Part of Who I Am.

Dear Mom and Dad,

My disability is only part of who I am.

Yes, I have a disability. However, it is only one part of my life.

I firmly believe that only the strongest of the strong are given challenges such as the ones we face. My life would certainly be easier without such a demanding health matter. However, you manage to nurture my health every day and still maintain a normal life.

We experience days that my health gets the best of us. On those days, I hope, Mom and Dad, that you choose to take it easy and give your bodies the rest that it needs.

Nevertheless, there are seven days in a week and 24 hours in a day. I can honestly
say that much of that time is spent taking care of and tending to my needs, sacrificing  your lives working long hours, at times, on very little sleep.

I watch you keeping a positive mindset, while choking back tears filled with sadness and frustration. Seeing this fuels me to remain strong and feeds  my passion for life.

Unlike many others with similar conditions, I understand my health challenge
to be your prority of life rather than a constriction. You work with me and assist me to maintain a healthy lifestyle and follow a regimen that my doctor has prescribed. I feel sad that once my bedtime has come, that the rest of your day is yours to do as you choose, but you’re too tired to enjoy it.

I know you refuse to give up simply because I have been diagnosed with a disability. You have instilled in me to live my life to the fullest and that I deserve success, whether large or small.

Today, I am grateful for all of the wonderful aspects of my life.  I have a
loving family, a cozy home, and a fun lifestyle. I truly live a fortunate life.

Mom and Dad, I love you and I thank you for all that you’ve done for me.

Now, parents, take some time to answer these questions for self-reflection:

1. Do I surround myself with supportive and positive people?

2. What can I do to boost my confidence?

3. Do I often dampen my mood by asking “why me?”

NOTE: In future posts I will address the issues of support, self-confidence builders, and thoughts on the ever present question, “why me?”

Until next time, I wish you peace, patience, confidence, and much love.

Pandemic = Productivity

When the world as we knew it shuttered its doors and came to a screeching halt in mid-March due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we were all shocked into a “new normal”. Working from home, distance learning for our childrren, and even tele-health/medicine became the “buzz words” of social media. I’ll be honest, I was lost for awhile what to do with myself inasmuch as my daily routine was upended. Especially, no going to my weekly senior daycenter, and as of this writing, still no date for it to reopen.

Time for creativity and productivity to kick into overdrive. Yes, I’ve been busy creating a variety of journals, notebooks, and activity books, specifically coloring books (2), and puzzle books (3) — maze, sudoku, and kakuro.

My parents’ 60th anniversary is on the 21st of this month, and I’m issuing a CHALLENGE to my readers and followers to have made 60 SALES by that date. Most, if not all, are priced under $10 a piece. Will you help me? And please, if there’s a notebook, journal, or activity book that you would like me to create especially for you as a gift for someone, all you need do is ask, and I will be more than happy to oblige.

So, here’s how to access my many creations. First, you can go to Amazon.com., and type my name, Beth Casey in the search box at the top of the page OR to make it even faster, go here:

https://authorcentral.amazon.com/gp/profile

I look forward to your comments regarding the products I have created, as well as the number of purchases that can be made in this short window of opportunity.

Blessings, prayers, and happy thoughts to all as we move through this pandemic collectively, looking forward to brighter and less chaotic days ahead!!

New Titles Published

Hello everyone! I’ve been very busy these past three months, what with the coronavirus and “stay at home order”, I’ve spent the downtime creating more books on Amazon.com that will interest you. So far, sales were real slow at first, but I’m told that’s typical of new authors, and I continue to create more books and that sales will pick up soon.  I’m hopeful these titles will be of interest you or purchased as a gift for someone. My books can be found at the link below and are priced for the most part under $10.00. The books I currently have available can be found at the link below:

So friends and followers, until next time, wishing you all a great day filled with lots of love, laughter, and rest. If you need a journal/notebook/planner for a special someone, I will gladly create it for you. Blessings to all in these very difficult times our world is dealing with. “Bethie” ❤ ❤ ❤
